We were incorporated in North Dakota in December 2006, and formed the North Dakota Autism Center (NDAC) Board of Directors. The NDAC received 501(c) (3) [non-profit] status in mid-June, 2007. We hold monthly board meetings, which is where we generate ideas, work on steps to establish the NDAC, and plan for upcoming events. We are currently looking for feedback from families of children on the spectrum to assist in creating our policies that will correspond with the need of the community. Please take our survey. We are also in the process of finding a location/building for the NDAC. The NDAC is planning a Walk for Autism on May 3, 2008, for the FM community. Like to golf? The NDAC will continue to update the website as new information becomes available. |
Something to think about... 1 in every 150 children have a form of autism Boys are 4 times as likely to be diagnosed on the spectrum A new case is diagnosed every 20 minutes 67 people will be diagnosed TODAY
This means with North Dakota's population at 633,837... ...there are roughly 4,225 people, just in ND, who may be on the spectrum.

Early intervention is a key element for children on the autism spectrum. Although, it is important to know that it is never 'too late' for intervention. |
"If a child can't learn in the way that we teach, then we must teach in a way he can learn." ~ Ivar Lovaas, Ph.D
