Family Support Services
As a Direct Support Professional, you’ll be responsible to provide care in the home to children and adults for short periods of time by providing assistance with life skills development, health maintenance and medication administrations, personal care, and behavioral development. You’ll have the opportunity work in the individual’s home and in community based settings, all while assisting in reaching personal goals, learning new skills and community integration. You’ll also be able to assist in developing and teaching daily living skills as written in an Individual Program Plan (IPP), collecting data and completing detailed documentation daily.
Position Requirements:
- Must be able to provide care to energetic individuals for multiple hours.
- Must be at least 18 years old with a valid driver’s license and clear driving record.
- Must have cleared and approved criminal record check.
- Must pass pre-employment drug screening.
- Must have legal status in the U.S.
Additional Requirements:
- Ability to type clearly and quickly.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Automobile insurance and reliable transportation.
- Graduates with psychology, social work, counseling, child development/family sciences, sociology, special education and other human service degrees is preferred.
